Ayla Marie Brown

Ayla Marie Brown is a recording artist and American NCAA basketball player from Wrentham, Massachusetts. Brown’s debut album, Forward, was released on October 17, 2006. The title track, “Forward,” peaked at #34 on Billboard’s AC chart.

Ayla missed her last few games senior year to compete on the fifth season of American Idol, getting all the way to Hollywood as one of the 24 semi-finalists. She was eliminated from the show on March 9, 2006 after making it to one of the top 16 spots. Following her departure from Idol, Brown made hundreds of personal appearances in 2006, including the Kiss 108 Concert on May 20. Brown sang the national anthem on July 4 with the Boston Pops, she also appeared at Fenway Park and at the Eastern States Exposition (The Big E) in W. Springfield, Mass.

In 2007, Ayla appeared at many events including the annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast in South Boston on March 18 and the Crocker Field Sunset Concert Series on September 16 in Fitchburg, Mass. Ayla also preformed in Gloucester, Ma. on August 13.

Evan with the missed games, she finished her high school career as one of the top female basketball players in Massachusetts history, scoring 2,358 career points. She plays the forward position for the Boston College Lady Eagles, wearing jersey #1. Brown’s nickname given to her by her teammates is “Downtown Ayla Brown” because of her ability to sink 3-pointers and lengthy shots.

Recently she was the narrator in the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at the Reagle’s Robinson Theater.
